Biography:

Lana Lang is a significant supporting character in DC Comics' Superman mythos. She is most famously known as Clark Kent's childhood sweetheart, growing up with him in Smallville.

Lana's first appearance was in *Superboy* #10 (1950). Initially, she was portrayed as a girl obsessed with discovering Superboy's true identity, often attempting to prove Clark was secretly the hero.

Over the years, Lana's character has evolved in various adaptations. In some continuities, she becomes romantically involved with Superman after his move to Metropolis. She has also been depicted with superpowers of her own, such as the Insect Queen persona.
